M — Mint · Perfect, never played
- Perfect condition, never played
- Still sealed in original shrink wrap (if applicable)
- Extremely rare for used records
NM / M- — Near Mint · Looks and sounds like new
- Looks and sounds like new
- May have been played once or twice
- No visible defects
- Cover and vinyl are nearly perfect
VG+ — Very Good Plus · Slight wear, plays great
- Shows slight signs of wear
- May have light surface marks that don't affect playback
- Slight cover wear (minor ring wear, light creases)
- Still plays great with minimal surface noise
VG — Very Good · Obvious wear, still enjoyable
- Shows obvious signs of wear
- Light scratches visible but don't significantly affect sound
- Some surface noise, light clicks/pops
- Cover may have seam splits, ring wear, or writing
- Still a playable, enjoyable copy
G+ — Good Plus · Well-played, audible noise
- Well-played with audible surface noise
- Scratches affect sound quality
- Noticeable clicks, pops, or crackle
- Cover shows significant wear
- Playable but not ideal
G — Good · Heavy wear, for completists
- Heavy wear, significant surface noise
- Plays through without skipping but sound quality is poor
- Cover heavily worn, may have tape, splits, or damage
- Mainly for completists or rare records
F / P — Fair / Poor · Salvage or display only
- Severe damage, may skip or stick
- Heavy scratches, warping possible
- For salvage or display only
