M — Mint · Perfect, never played
  • Perfect condition, never played
  • Still sealed in original shrink wrap (if applicable)
  • Extremely rare for used records
NM / M- — Near Mint · Looks and sounds like new
  • Looks and sounds like new
  • May have been played once or twice
  • No visible defects
  • Cover and vinyl are nearly perfect
VG+ — Very Good Plus · Slight wear, plays great
  • Shows slight signs of wear
  • May have light surface marks that don't affect playback
  • Slight cover wear (minor ring wear, light creases)
  • Still plays great with minimal surface noise
VG — Very Good · Obvious wear, still enjoyable
  • Shows obvious signs of wear
  • Light scratches visible but don't significantly affect sound
  • Some surface noise, light clicks/pops
  • Cover may have seam splits, ring wear, or writing
  • Still a playable, enjoyable copy
G+ — Good Plus · Well-played, audible noise
  • Well-played with audible surface noise
  • Scratches affect sound quality
  • Noticeable clicks, pops, or crackle
  • Cover shows significant wear
  • Playable but not ideal
G — Good · Heavy wear, for completists
  • Heavy wear, significant surface noise
  • Plays through without skipping but sound quality is poor
  • Cover heavily worn, may have tape, splits, or damage
  • Mainly for completists or rare records
F / P — Fair / Poor · Salvage or display only
  • Severe damage, may skip or stick
  • Heavy scratches, warping possible
  • For salvage or display only
