Ice: Saga Of The Ice King 1st Pressing Vinyl Album 1979

Saga of the Ice King is a rare British private-press progressive-rock concept album by Ice, a five-piece from Tamworth, Staffordshire. The album is built around a Nordic-inspired story involving kings, mythology, conflict, and exile.

The record was written, arranged, and produced by the band. Recording took place at Curborough Sound Studios in Lichfield, a small converted garden-shed studio. The production also involved string arrangements by vocalist Mick Rutherford and contributions from the Staffordshire Youth Orchestra.

It is considered Ice’s only album and is highly sought after by collectors of obscure British progressive and private-press records.
